The Colonel John F. Kutcher Military Service Scholarship was awarded to Olivia Krause (pictured below), a senior at Harford Tech High School who is entering active duty. Krause becomes the first winner of this scholarship from Harford Tech High School. She plans to use the funds for equipment needed for military use and items needed to physically prepare herself for basic training.
In just the third year of existence, The Brent Toms Baseball Legacy Award was given to Jayden Ball (pictured below). A senior at the Evangelical Christian School and member of their baseball team, Ball has had a passion for baseball from the very moment he could hold one. He plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.
The 2023 recipient of The John Simpers Baseball Service Award was Leon Whitmill. Retired after the 2022 season, Whitmill was very heavily involved in youth baseball in both Harford and Cecil county. The youth recipient of umpire gear is Kyle Perkins (pictured below). Perkins has played the game of baseball for much of his life. While he has never umpired, he is eager for the opportunity.
